Mail Piece Design for Automation

Several of our associates recently attended a USPS presentation on how to design mail for the lowest cost and fastest delivery.  Given recent rate increases and upcoming facility closings, making sure your mail meets the best standards is increasingly important. The presentation covers many important topics such as:

  • mail piece minimum and maximum size
  • shape (aspect ratio)
  • minimum and maximum thickness
  • minimum and maximum weight
  • rigidity
  • tabbing
  • return address placement
  • address and postal barcode placement
  • accepted address fonts
  • paper color
  • and more
