For the first time in almost 100 years, the USPS is lowering postage rates. The average decrease among all classes is about 4%. The decrease begins Sunday, April 10th.
What this means in real terms is that Standard Class automated mail will go down about a penny per piece and automated First Class mail will go down about a penny and a half. The second ounce on automated First Class mail remains free.
